Meal Prep & Time Savers:
Bake the Cornbread Early: Prepare and bake the cornbread up to two days before. Once cooled, cover tightly and store at room temperature. When ready to use, break it into chunks and toast it to dry it out. Ultimate Time Saver: Use Store-bought Cornbread or Cornbread Stuffing Pieces.
Cook the Ground Turkey in Advance: Sauté the ground turkey with garlic, sage, thyme, and a splash of white wine the day before. Allow it to cool, then store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Use Store-Bought Mirepoix: Save time by using store-bought mirepoix (a pre-chopped mix of onions, celery, and carrots).
Assemble Everything in Advance: Combine all the ingredients (cornbread, turkey, vegetables, and broth) the night before and store in the prepared casserole dish. Cover with foil and refrigerate.
Make Extra:
Stuffed Vegetables: Use leftover stuffing to fill bell peppers, portobello mushrooms, or hollowed-out zucchini. Bake until the vegetables are tender for a hearty, wholesome meal.
Turkey-Stuffing Casserole: Combine leftover stuffing with shredded turkey, gravy, and a sprinkle of cheese in a casserole dish. Bake until golden and bubbly for an easy comfort food dinner.
Vegetarian-Friendly
Omit the ground turkey and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Add extra flavor with a mix of cranberries, apples, and walnuts or pecans.
