Experience the vibrant fusion of flavors in this Red Wine Cherry Vinaigrette, a perfect addition to your summer salad repertoire. Cherries, currently in season, are not only delicious but also packed with health benefits. Rich in antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins, cherries help combat inflammation and reduce oxidative stress. They are also a good source of fiber, vitamins C and A, and essential minerals like potassium and manganese. This vinaigrette harnesses the natural sweetness and tartness of cherries, complemented by the robust notes of red wine and champagne vinegars, creating a balanced and versatile dressing.

You can use already pitted frozen cherries, or make pitting the cherries an activity for your family! With older kids, you can have them safely smash the cherries using a cutting board and a knife, or check out these fun techniques published on YouTube by Whole Foods - there’s even a tip about pitting cherries using a paperclip. Or if you have room for a gadget in your drawer, this Cherry Pitter can be used for olives too!

Making 1.5 cups of vinaigrette is convenient for use throughout the week. Enjoy this delightful vinaigrette over your favorite salads, grilled vegetables, or as a marinade for meats. We recommend pairing this vinaigrette with our One Potato DIY Steak Salad Sandwich recipe, a summer treat for the whole family.
