One Potato.

One World. One Family. One Meal.

One Potato is a community and newsletter written by real people who are parents, having real conversations about our families, cooking traditions, and cultures. We are passionate about raising healthy and happy kids while navigating the challenges of picky eaters, dietary restrictions, busy schedules, and daily life. Our community is incredibly diverse, and our rich stories, educational posts, and recipes reflect that. We are motivated to help our community build a family culture around healthy eating & encouraging kids to explore new foods & flavors.

What We Publish

  • Monthly Cook's Calendar (1x / month), an overview of the upcoming 4 recipes that we'll be sharing during the month, with tips for meal prepping and using the ingredients to make tasty leftovers

  • Recipes (4x / month), published every Thursday. EVERY recipe includes an Instacart grocery shopping link, with a pre-filled cart to save you time when ordering ingredients for that recipe. (We know how time consuming grocery shopping can be, even online!)

  • Chef, Founder, and Home Cook Interviews (1-2x / month), sharing their cooking journey and how we can introduce new flavors to our families and get kids excited about cooking and eating healthy

  • Personal Essays (1-2x / month) from One Potato community members (about family cooking traditions, sharing their own recipes, about holidays and food, or their personal experiences feeding picky eaters - just a few examples)

  • Educational Articles and Segments (1-2x / month), such as Get Growing with Chef Lola about growing your own indoor garden or herbs with which to cook, or articles and activities about the "Clean 15" and "Dirty Dozen" fruits and vegetables.

As We Grow - Write for Us

We also know that parents are more than the adult who puts food on the table – we always welcome submissions of writing from our community sharing thoughts about important topics going on in family life. We know that meal time can be an outlet for deeper conversations, and how changes in eating patterns or behaviors can be a sign of something deeper going on in a child’s life. Meal time can be a safe environment to talk about hard topics or fun and goofy topics, it can be a nurturing environment and a safe space.

We feature guest posts from parents who are home cooks, parents who don’t like to cook, and parents who are social media savvy influencers. Our goal with One Potato is NOT to be a one-person personality platform, but a community and resource of many real voices and stories.

We share authentic stories relating to families and food that are important to our audience. So we’re searching for parents to share their experiences, stories, and recipes, through our guest posting program.

You can also follow us on Instagram @onepotatobox and tell your friends about our community through our referral program.
